Perhaps someone on this forum can help me with the following issues. The involved system is a Stack ST8600M (wheel display w predictive lap) coupled to a
ST8905 4MB / E1 recorder system using DataPro 2.37 under Win98SE. I have contacted Stack about these issues, but so far have no reply from them.
ST8600M WHEEL OPERATION ISSUES
1. ST8600M will not display peak values:
The Stack ST8600 Manual Version ST542072-002 indicates that pressing and holding UP ARROW
should cause the display to cycle thru the peak values. Nothing happens on our unit.
No peak values can be displayed
2. ST8600M will not reset peak values or lap counter:
The ST8600 Manual Version ST542072-002 indicates that pressing LIGHT + DOWN ARROW
should reset the lap counter (and also the peak values). Our lap counter does not reset.
We can't see the peak values (see #1 above) so we don't know if they are reset or not.
NOTE: The ST8600M unit involved is a brand new unit provided by Stack just this year as a replacement; so I am assuming that there is nothing wrong with the unit, but that the documentation we have is incorrect for this new unit.
CHANNEL EXCEEDED ERROR LOCKS OUT NORMAL DATA ACCESS to E MODULE CHANNELS
3. Prior to our most recent event, I uploaded our normal configuration using DATAPRO DESIGNER (17 channel configuration - within the 20 channel limit for our ST8905 4MB unit). No upload errors - and a short static recording test and download worked perfectly.
However, when we ran the car at the event, every time I downloaded the data I received a "Channel Exceeded Error" and DataPro showed nonsensical flat line (unchanging values) for the 8 channels associated with the "E" module. DataPro gave the message that "an additional license" had to be purchased.
Uploading the configuration again (no errors reported), changing and re-applying the car setup (no errors reported) or reauthorizing the recorder (no errors reported) did not fix the problem.
The actual channels downloaded into the session directories are the correct 17 channels - per the names. Either the data was not recorded for the channels (I hope not) or DataPro is preventing me from looking at the data due to its belief that I have exceeded the licensed number of channels. I am hoping that some reader of this forum knows how to resolve the channel exceed error so that I can access the 8 data channels connected to the E1 module.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Regards
