Gates had streched out a substaintial lead and was stroking it-Galson was running strong second with Knolls and Calafato closing in.Unfortunately for Galson, Knolls caught him in the bowl turn just as he was lappin Pat Phalan (who showed much inprovement for his second s2 race).Calafato on Knolls tail lifted and waited for the inevitable when three cars try to go through the bowl at once.Galson and Phalan came together letting Knolls scoot by on the inside ,followed by Calafato and Freehoff , who it should be noted was closing in on the front runner all race.
