Although I think I have everything in place, when I look at my AIM data, I do not see anything that looks like accurate Lamda (air/fuel ratio) data. It appears to be a flat line value of "1". What is a good procedure for me to determine why the data does not seem to be logging correctly? TIA. Russ Russ McBride Marietta, GA

Posts: 2192 09/22/08 20:00:27	Have you tried using the "Online" feature of Race Studio 2 to watch the live readings? Be sure to click the "show ADC Counts" button, so that you can see what value the logger senses for that input. If the ADC counts are changing, but the channel value isn't then I would suspect the calibration file doesn't agree with the LC-1 output. The LC-1 does have a programable output function, and it may be that that is somehow not set to the default output (which is what the calibration file that Veracity Racing Data supplies is expecting). Do you have a good ground on the LC-1? I believe it requires both the blue-wire and the white wire for ground. These both need to be connected to a common ground point.

Posts: 303 03/27/09 20:31:13	If your AIM seems to be setup correctly, look to the LC-1 itself. The factory defaults for the LC-1 are different for each of the two leads. The yellow lead (channel or output #1 in LC-1 speak) is set at the factory to emulate a narrowband sensor, and will read around 1v from pig-rich all the way up to an AFR of about 14, i.e. it will read around 1v just about all of the time on a race car. The brown lead / channel 2 comes setup for a wideband signal starting at 0v (.5 Lambda / AFR 7.4) and topping out at 5v (1.5 Lambda / AFR 22+), a much more useful spread for anything except emission control. And of course, either channel can be programmed to do just about anything as long as it is linear (excluding narrowband emulation).

Posts: 209 03/29/09 08:05:51	I'm not familiar with the AIM system, but I have an innovate plumbed into my CDS system. Is your scaling from 0 to 140, or from 0 to 14? If I remember right, the innovate has one fixed, and one programmable output. I think I have my system reading the fixed output, and with the system on but engine not running, the output should be 7. You wouldn't need to have the motor in the car to check this, just have the sensor plugged into the innovate harness.
