I know that our association with 4 Flight industries has been severed since last summer so that is no surprise, but my concern is that we no longer have an organized way of managing and organizing race events.
At the point of separation from the ACRL, S2000 was looking for an in expensive semi-pro series that serviced the west coast. Utilizing SCCA events (and volunteer support) we looked for interesting events, reasonable track access, and an organized way of bringing as many of our beautifull cars out as possible. It was awesome and I miss it. A short time after conception, 4 Flight began a series support program with "tow" and "show" funds; that was very helpfull as well.
I write this in hopes of getting dialogue started to redevelop the same kind of energy and interest again.... hope by 2008.
2007 has seen a scramble to maximize National participation to avoid the National Sanctioning gallows. I looks like we may sneek by this year but should double our effort for next year.
A couple of thoughts to discuss.....
What do we call ourselves?
(In the beginning.."Pacific Coast Sport 2000 Challenge" was considered)
Who are we going to service/support?
(So Cal? +Nor Cal?+Portland?+Phoenix? Others?)
Should we persue a sponsor?
(Show and Tow Fund... or other?)
What events do we run?
(Nationals are a given for the first half of the year - then?)
Who might make up a directing entity?
(A Czar? and board?)
There you go..... hope to have broken the rust off of the series discussions...
