Posts: 250 01/12/08 23:45:48	Tags : None Cali S2 racers, why dont we all try to get together for 2 weekend races this year? No points, no trophies.just all agree that well run TWO weekend events together so we have the enjoyment of the large fields that we had in the now lost & lamented 4-Flight Series. In CalClub I can try to get the group split starts.maybe even a Sports Racer Only group is a possibility if we have some decent activity. The bottom line is that its up to us to participate. If the participation is enthusiastic, maybe we can try 4 events next yearvisit NorCal again. Today Im suggesting the 2 events be at Buttonwillow as it is middle ground for the core group of California S2 racers. How about the October Pumpkin Run as 1 weekend (a Double Regional, Oct. 25/26)? The weather is usually good and theres normally a good turnout. For the 1st event I would suggest the March Double Regional at BWR. Weather is usually idyllic at BWR that month too. Other suggestions?? Whos in? Who else wants to run a couple of 12-15 car S2 weekends in 2008?

Posts: 250 01/13/08 09:51:39	The regions do talk with each other Fred. The schedules are 90% determined by track availabilty, and that's why things like this constantly happen. I don't believe the '07 T-Hill event was well attended by S2's, so the conflict issue may be a moot point. I'd like to keep this thread on target. Anyone interested in firing up a big group for a couple weekends this year? BA

Posts: 250 01/13/08 16:58:01	The Pros of the April Double Nat are that it's pretty well attended normally, the weather's usually good, and there's no competing event. The Cons are that the open wheel group is usually pretty crowded....don't know if I can manage a split start for S2...more likely a Sports Racer split start if anything. Also, a few folk may not have Nat licenses. The May race is currently a restricted Regional, which I'm trying to get changed whether or not we attend in mass. BA

After that I would only need a new helmet....Hans re-certified ..... And a National Lic......figured I could still vote Really, really, wanted to say Thill National as I know you So-Cal folks would love the track ....know its a long tow, but since I can't make T-hill myself figured I keep my mouth shut this year.
