Statistically there are 7 drivers who still have a shot at the Championship Trophy and the Grand Prize: a Fast Forward Aluminum Head!! Ted Guenther has the lead as we head into the final weekend.....but! *SUNDAY'S RACE IS DOUBLE SERIES POINTS* ...and anything can happen: Ferguson has The Fin! Alloy heads abound! Fresh paint! New motors! New entrants! Champagne podium! Sponsor prizes! Split Start! It's all gonna' happen at Cal Club's Buttonwillow Raceway on Halloween weekend. My straw poll shows 15 solid entrants....with Jeff Anderson crunching to finish his car in time and Paul Rubel always a threat to show up to make it a possible 17 S2's on the track! It's the fin !! -- OK, perhaps it's fixing an engine brace, and getting the springs/shock closer to the ballpark. I think racing at Road America, really helped me dial-in the car (aero & mechanical balance, and brakes too!). The car is becoming easier to drive all the time.

Posts: 354 11/03/09 07:26:47	Western US S2 racers: this is a seriously great group of S2 guys to race with! Very welcoming, eager to help, and as a group they are pretty darn well equipped. My Saab slave cylinder failed but I was able to beg o-rings and a hoist. Too bad I damaged the clutch disk at the end of my midnight thrash. (At my age I don't do two thrashes in a weekend). Watch the 2010 schedule - looks like there will be two special weekends just two or three weeks apart at Buttonwillow next October. If we are still racing, we will be there! PS - the track layout that we ran (I got in a few laps during Friday testing) had some really fun elements and some fairly challenging stuff as well. CalClub has done a really nice job at Buttonwillow!
