Recent SCCA rules changes and other questions

We have had several questions concerning recent SCCA rules changes and how they might apply to our rules in NAC-SRCC.
The answer is that they don't. We are trying to keep things simple and fun.
Let me address the main questions.
No Aluminum heads, iron head Pintos only.
No upgraded Elgin cam. Only the cams as shown in our rules, ground to stock spec's.
No multiple minimum weight cam and head combinations. Iron head, stock cam, 1310 lbs. as raced.
No alloy...

2009 NAC-SRCC Points

Thanks to the great work of the long-suffering Cap Chenoweth and "man with a big stick," Mike Crumay, 2009 series points will be posted on the NAC-SRCC.com site end of day today or tomorrow.

We've had great participation in both the scheduled and "pickup" events and the spread is as tight throughout the field as it is at the top! THAT'S how you know it's WORKING!

2010 Schedule Ideas

Would love to start a discussion about events next year. Seems like the idea of the Sports 2000 ARRC (old name for the RunOffs (c)) at Road Atlanta in October is gaining traction.

Obviously the Gold Cup, Mid-Ohio, Mosport (Tremblant too?) and Lime Rock Labor Day would be great places to get a bunch of cars out. With the introduction of Rahal's new high-brow series, perhaps we could be included in the 2-liter Sports Racer group (a la Lime Rock this past year). Anybody made any...

VDCA Roebling Road, December 11-13

Looks like several folks are planning on Roebling, definitely the Savannah crowd (Gompels and Carson), Robert Hibdon, Hooks, Witkowski perhaps? Heard Wilke and his crowd may stop off on the way back from HSR Sebring the weekend before. Asa may drive Jack's car again and I will be bringing the Tiga to try and get into the 10's! Who else? Sugg? Anyone from afar?

VRG Watkins Glen

It would be too bad if the weather didn't cooperate for them, this event is one of the best kept secrets, tons of track time, lots of fun.

Impending engine rules/parity

What is the feeling on this forum and within SRCC leadership regarding the impending engine rules changes in SCCA. Many of us, myself included, continue to race in SCCA but also participate in a number of vintage events. I was looking at the entry list and wondered why David Porter's Swift DB2 is listed in "7BSR" instead of "7S2". Is this just an error or is his car somehow modified?

VSCDA at Road America

The weather for the VSCDA Elkhart Lake Vintage Festival last weekend could not have been better. About 200 cars were registered, including 6 S2s with Lola T90s for Jeffry Boston and Deane Tank, a 598 for Jack Donnellan and Swift DB2s for RJ Duffy, John Kramer and Eric Machajwski. The featured classes were stock cars and formula vees.

The enduro ran Friday afternoon and included about 50 cars across all the classes and S2s for Duffy, Kramer/Kelley and Boston. The S2s only had...

WATKINS GLEN SEPT 10-13

This is the final "Festival" event of the year. It is always a jam-packed weekend.

Crumay and Rossi are race chairs. There will be a S2000 reception 5:00 on Friday at the Crumay/Rossi paddock. Rossi is cooking up a special Italian treat.

Tech
Crumay/Rossi will be "teching" S2000s at your pit space. Fill out your medical, take it to tech, trade it for your tech form.

Weather looks like highs near 70 each day. At this may event you can always count on at least some rain.
