Stack 8600 8905 Problem

Perhaps someone on this forum can help me with the following issues. The involved system is a Stack ST8600M (wheel display w predictive lap) coupled to a ST8905 4MB / E1 recorder system using DataPro 2.37 under Win98SE. I have contacted Stack about these issues, but so far have no reply from them.

AIM have available new firmware and RS software and one of the changes is to do with GPS. It is now possible to specify a track width, has anyone used this feature and if so does it outline the edges of the track?

MOTEC "CAN BUS WARNING"

Gurus,

My Radical SR3 has a Motec ADL2 system in it with a Motec steering wheel (incorporating the Motec MDD). Recently, I've been intermittently getting a "CAN BUS WARNING" or "CAN Wiring Warning" message on the MDD. The ADL2 dash continues to work fine, and data logging appears to be just fine as well. It only seems to happen at speed in the car, and I can recreate the issue in the pits or in the garage.

I haven't gotten out my Multimeter...

Sensor Calibration

Quick question - After reviewing first data collected this season, I noticed the oil pressure starts off reading at -6 (both on dash and recorded) and I saw oil temp start at 32 degrres, when it was sunny and 80 degrees outside. Oil temp quickly climbed to 170ish over a couple laps as expected. Oil pressire at speed settled in high 30s at spped as expected. Any way to calibrate the these readings? At least the oil pressure is constant at start of -6, the oil temp seemed to be a fluke....

Gaggle of beacon transmitters

Not sure if others have had this problem before, but this past weekend at Mid Ohio my lap beacon was getting intermittent signals on the track even though when testing it in the paddock all seemed fine. When I went down to the pit wall to see if there was a beacon of my brand already setup (there usually is) what I found was just past start finish almost 18 beacon transmitters all spaced about 8 inches apart. Now I don't think there are 18 different brands of data acquisition systems and...

connecting ECU to MXL

Gear Position channel reads 6th as "0" on AIM system

Hi all,
Using an AIM MXL. Engine is GSXR 1000. When calibrating Gear Position, using the output from the transmissions internal sensor, I noted that the "signal" is nearly the same for neutral, and 6th. As such, the system interprets the 6th gear signal as neutral.

Since I have a separate neutral indicator light, I'd rather the system interpret the 6th gear signal as 6th rather than neutral.

GPS Reliability

Are other people finding the Mychron GPS reliable in lap timing? Ours so far has not been a stellar performer in that are though it creates track maps, both GPS and normal along with all other data that the GPS should supply. We have cleared the GPS each time and it has worked normally once only in creating separate lap times and not a cumulative time for the whole race.

This weekend at ThunderHill I have the opportunity to share some data with a fellow CDS user. Unfortunately he has Vista on his computer and I have not been able to locate the data files and when I try to access the CDS location where data is supposed to be it denies access (C:\Program Files\Track Master\Tracks), also Vista will not let me transfer my data into the CDS location does anyone understand this?

I've been using an AIM MyChron3 XG Log dash/logger on an old Formula Ford for a while, and recently decided to put it into use on an Endurance Kart (twin engined Honda thing).

Sharing Data Accross Platforms

The shop that built and maintains my car has tons of data from MOTEC on the tracks we visit (from similar cars to mine). I can't really afford a MoTeC right now, is there a way to share data accross platforms so I could hopefully use a less expensive data aq system?

CDS GPS for Motec

I saw on your Veracity site that Motec CDS had a new Motec-compatible GPS/beacon. Will that be compatible with the ADL or will it just work with ADL2? Also, is it the same functionality as the one for CDS and AIM where you push the button at the start/finish and it logs it for future laps as well?
